We’re back with our last installment of our Day in DeSoto series! This time, we’re exploring how to spend a day in Hernando. Read along to see how you can seize the day in DeSoto County, Mississippi’s county seat.
Morning
Love to start your morning off with coffee and breakfast? Yo Bro Coffee Co. is the perfect fit! Enjoy everything from espresso drinks to matcha, and don’t forget to try their food while you're at it. If a coffee shop isn’t your style, hit up Bazar’s Bakery and Breakfast for a more filling feast.
After you're fueled up for the day, get some vitamin D at Renasant Park or Conger Park. Are you a history buff? Hernando is home to the DeSoto County Museum, where you can learn about the area’s rich history.
Mid-day
If you’re a shop-a-holic, you’re sure to find what you're looking for in Hernando. Check out The Bunker Boutique, Rivers + Roads Boutique, Saint Boutique and Small Town Sass, just to name a few, for all your clothing, accessory and gifting needs.
Now, it’s time for lunch. Buon Cibo serves up gourmet soups, salads, sandwiches and more. Or, head to Windy City Grille for delicious elevated bar food and a cold adult beverage. After you enjoy a quick bite, visit Sweet Fizz. This locally owned spot offers dirty sodas, fresh lemonades and energy drinks.
Spend the rest of your afternoon at Cedar Hill Farms enjoying its seasonal events, tractor-drawn hayrides, a zip line, petting zoo and so much more. You can also visit Bolin Grove Farms for U-pick produce and Tanglewood Farms for more outdoor fun.
Evening
Visit Off the Square for dinner on one of the best patios in the heart of Hernando. There, you’ll find high-quality steaks and cocktails. If you’re craving fresh seafood from the bayou, The Parish is a must try. Other great spots to visit are AC’s Steakhouse Pub, Hernando Underground Cafe and La Torcia Brick Oven Pizza. Stop by Area 51 Ice Cream, Velvet Cream or City Hall Cheesecake to satisfy your sweet tooth after supper.
