How the Trip Planner works

  • Ask in plain language about dining, attractions, lodging, or events across DeSoto County’s six towns.
  • Suggestions come from the curated Discover DeSoto directory and include map pins plus links to each listing page.
  • Outbound links go to the partner’s own site. Discover DeSoto does not check live availability, take reservations, or process payments.
  • Sign in with an email magic link or Google to heart places into Saved places and continue past the free message allowance.

Frequently asked questions

Can the Trip Planner book restaurants or hotels?

No. Discover DeSoto recommends and links out only. Any booking, reservation, or payment happens on the partner’s own website or with that partner directly.

Do I need an account to use it?

You can send a limited number of messages without signing in. To continue chatting, keep places in Saved places, or keep My trips across visits, sign in with a free email magic link or Google. We do not use passwords for visitor accounts.

Where do the recommendations come from?

Suggestions are grounded in the curated Discover DeSoto directory of dining, lodging, attractions, and events across DeSoto County, Mississippi. Treat AI output as helpful guidance and verify details with each partner before you go.

Is my chat history saved?

Conversation history may be stored in your browser for convenience on the same device. When you are signed in, Saved places and My trips are stored in your Discover DeSoto account on Bureau systems. See the Privacy Policy for details.
